What is not publishedthe gaps we looked for and did not find
Air Ecology and EMF Harmony have nothing published that this standard can score. On air, the resort publishes that guest rooms and common areas are heated and cooled by low temperature radiant panels set into ceilings and floors, which describes how heat is delivered rather than what is filtered or how much fresh air is supplied. No filter grade, no fresh air supply rate, no measured carbon dioxide, volatile organic compound or particulate reading and no mould inspection protocol is published. Three combustion sources are on the public record and none of them is counted as air evidence: the resort's own Eco Book describes a Cigar Lounge adjacent to the Lounge Bar fitted with smoke extraction, and states separately that smoking is banned in all areas of the property under Italian law, and the energy centre burns wood chip biomass with a methane gas boiler for peak demand and back up. On EMF, the property publishes a Wi-Fi coverage list that includes guest rooms, lobby, restaurants, bars, the fitness area and an Internet Point, and states that the service is not available within Lefay SPA to ensure peace and silence. That is a service coverage boundary and a quiet policy, not a network topology: no wired data provision, shielded cabling, access point or smart meter placement, demand switch, opt out on request or field measurement in a sleeping area is published. On water, the salinity figure and the pool filter medium are published without any analyst, instrument or laboratory named, and no contaminant panel for drinking, shower or pool water has been published; the annual discharge analysis commissioned to an accredited laboratory measures what leaves the site, not what reaches a tap or a pool. On sound, no background noise level, no acoustic separation figure between adjoining keys and no guest room fragrance policy is published, although the spa brochure describes an Aromatic Sauna and the essences used in it. On materials, no mattress composition, flame retardant position or textile certification such as GOTS or OEKO TEX is published. The resort publishes an unusually detailed engineering record on energy, carbon, waste and consumption, and none of it is scored here: the wood chip biomass plant and its 720 kWh thermal output, roughly 1,100 MWh of electricity and 1,900 MWh of heat a year, the absorption cooling plant, carbon neutrality reported for the eleventh consecutive year, the 50 percent reduction in tap and cistern flow, and the 300 cubic metre rainwater tank used for irrigating the grounds. Those measure energy, carbon and consumption rather than what a guest breathes, drinks or touches, and they belong to LEED, Green Globe and EarthCheck. Published floor areas for each suite category, the 11 hectare park and the 959 butterfly species counted in the surrounding park are also excluded as numbers that measure nothing any pathway covers.
Other standards held
Useful context. A held standard does not move a pathway score on its own. It moves a score only through the evidence that standard publishes.
Regional context2 public figures about the area, none of which scores
Public data about the surrounding area. None of it contributes to the score, because a property cannot be marked down for the conditions outside it.
- Safely managed drinking water, Italy: The World Health Organization reports 97 per cent of the population nationally using a safely managed drinking water service. This describes the country, not this property, and says nothing about what reaches a guest room here. It is recorded because it is the background against which a property's own treatment is worth publishing. Source
- Ambient PM2.5 and PM10 near Gargnano, Lake Garda, Italy: Modelled ambient air over this location averaged 8.5 micrograms per cubic metre of PM2.5 and 13.1 of PM10 across the 720 hours to 2026-08-17, peaking at 23.6 PM2.5. The World Health Organization annual guideline for PM2.5 is 5. This is the outdoor air over the area, modelled rather than measured on site, and it is not a reading of the air inside any room. Source
Not published is not unsafehow to read these scores, and what this index does not promise
A low score means a property has not published information. It does not mean the property is unsafe, unhealthy or poorly run.
These scores measure disclosure. These scores describe disclosure, not property quality. This index has no commercial relationship with the properties listed unless a badge on the listing says otherwise.
Conditions change, and we will not always know. Every record is a snapshot of what a property had published when we read it, and that date is on the page. Conditions change: a property can refit, change suppliers or replace a system at any time, and nothing requires it to tell us. We re-read records and ask properties directly for updates, but there will always be a gap between what is true today and what was published when we looked. Use this as a frame of reference for what to ask, not as a substitute for asking. Take your own questions to the property before you book, and tell us if you find something we have wrong.
We report what properties publish. We do not inspect, certify or vouch for any property on this index unless a listing says we assessed it on site, and we accept no responsibility for decisions made or outcomes experienced on the basis of what you read here.
