What is not publishedthe gaps we looked for and did not find
Huilo Huilo publishes a great deal about the 100,000 hectare reserve and very little about the interior systems of the lodging inside it. No filter grade, ventilation rate, water panel, laboratory, light level, field reading or noise measurement was found for any of the hotels or cabins. On water, the property publishes a spa with a heated pool, a cold pool reserved for adults, an outdoor pool, the Laguna Encantada pool, saunas, relaxation rooms and a jacuzzi, and a 2012 description of baths in centenarian tree trunks filled with heated natural waters. Its programme pages also name its own bottled mineral water, Agua mineral Huilo Huilo, as included for guests. No source, treatment train, mineral profile, tested panel or sanitation method is published for any of them, and nothing is published about the water in guest room taps or showers. On light, the only glazing reference found is a 2020 interview in which the architect recalls that glass and thermopanel materials were hauled to the site during construction, which describes construction logistics rather than a daylight or lighting specification, and no colour temperature, blackout or fixture detail is published. On EMF, the help centre states that Entel and Movistar cover some areas of the hotels and that there is a WiFi network in the common areas: that is a coverage statement, it does not say guest rooms are unserved, and no wired option, access point placement, shielding or field reading is published. The property's cabin pages list slow combustion heating among the amenities of the Cabana Mediana and the Cabana Grande, and a 2015 feature describes lounges with open fireplaces. Those are combustion sources inside the envelope, recorded here and never credited as air evidence, and no flue, appliance, emission rating or indoor air reading is published for any of them. The property's own hotel pages describe no heating system, and the reserve's blog on sustainable firewood use discusses the practice regionally without stating what its own lodging uses. Conservation programmes, the Truful mini hydroelectric plant and the reserve's annual forestry volume are published in detail and none of them measure what a guest is exposed to indoors.

- Safely managed drinking water, Chile: The World Health Organization reports 98 per cent of the population nationally, 99 per cent in urban areas using a safely managed drinking water service. This describes the country, not this property, and says nothing about what reaches a guest room here. It is recorded because it is the background against which a property's own treatment is worth publishing. Source
- Ambient PM2.5 and PM10 near Neltume, Los Ríos, Chile: Modelled ambient air over this location averaged 1.2 micrograms per cubic metre of PM2.5 and 1.5 of PM10 across the 720 hours to 2026-08-17, peaking at 12.9 PM2.5. The World Health Organization annual guideline for PM2.5 is 5. This is the outdoor air over the area, modelled rather than measured on site, and it is not a reading of the air inside any room. Source
Not published is not unsafehow to read these scores, and what this index does not promise
A low score means a property has not published information. It does not mean the property is unsafe, unhealthy or poorly run.
These scores measure disclosure. These scores describe disclosure, not property quality. This index has no commercial relationship with the properties listed unless a badge on the listing says otherwise.
Conditions change, and we will not always know. Every record is a snapshot of what a property had published when we read it, and that date is on the page. Conditions change: a property can refit, change suppliers or replace a system at any time, and nothing requires it to tell us. We re-read records and ask properties directly for updates, but there will always be a gap between what is true today and what was published when we looked. Use this as a frame of reference for what to ask, not as a substitute for asking. Take your own questions to the property before you book, and tell us if you find something we have wrong.
We report what properties publish. We do not inspect, certify or vouch for any property on this index unless a listing says we assessed it on site, and we accept no responsibility for decisions made or outcomes experienced on the basis of what you read here.
